The Imaging Radiobiology Laboratory in the Department of Radiation Oncology is recruiting 1-2 postdoctoral fellows to focus on research in molecular imaging and radiobiology. The focus of these positions will be on:

1. the development of molecular imaging strategies targeting tumoral hypoxia, DNA damage, and radiation response
2. the engineering and application of systems for conformal irradiation of small animal models of disease

Stanford University is actively building a state-of-art program in Molecular Imaging with a wide array of faculty with expertise in Chemistry, Cell/Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics, and Bioengineering. The Imaging Radiobiology Laboratory, headed by Dr. Edward Graves, is an active member of the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) as well as the Cancer Biology program and the Stanford Cancer Center.

Positions are available immediately. The successful applicants will serve as team members in the Imaging Radiobiology Laboratory. Within the focus areas specified above, the positions may involve one or more of the following activities:

1. Chemical synthesis of radiolabeled probes for positron emission tomography (PET)
2. Construction of reporter gene constructs and transfection into cells
3. Imaging of cells and small animals using PET, optical imaging, x-
   ray computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
4. Treatment of animal tumor models with molecular therapies and conformal radiation therapy
5. Engineering of hardware and software for small animal imaging, radiotherapy, and image analysis

The candidate must have a PhD degree in biology, bioengineering, physics, or a related field. Experience with small animal imaging and radiobiology research is preferred.
